Hey guys its already the month of April and I am starting to see the sun more and more every single day. So most people know what means, we have to put our winter clothes away and take out our spring clothes and get ready for Guangzhou’s very hot spring and summer season.

I wanted to talk about an accessory that is used to block the sun from our eyes, but many people enjoy wearing it because it makes them look really cool in the summertime. Today we will talk about sunglasses and the many different names it has as well.

1) specs
Specs can also be a short word for spectacles, which comes from the idea of wearing glasses. Specs has been adopted from our Australian brothers and sisters and most people in America enjoy the way it sounds. It can be used for wearing regular glasses and sunglasses.
specs是眼镜的一个简短的词。它来自戴眼镜的想法。澳大利亚人和美国大多数人都喜欢它的发音。它可以用来表示戴普通眼镜和太阳镜。
2) shades
The term Shades is used in North America. It is a more formal term for sunglasses. A slang word for sunglasses derived from sun-shades.

3) stunna shades
A name for oversized, dark sunglasses coined by rappers of the 90's. This was really fun to say, back when I was younger many of my friends and I would enjoy calling our classes “stunna shades.”

4) aviators
Aviator can again mean two things. Firstly, it is the sunglasses designed by Ray-Ban, which are shaped like a pilot’s sunglasses. Today many other brands also produce sunglasses with this shape, and Aviator can, thus, also refer to the specific aviator shape of the frames. Aviators are known for their sleek designs and large lens.
