这才七月中旬, 炎热的天气压不过投资者们狂热的野心, 许多初创公司凭借一份企划书，都能拿到数百万美金的投资款, 也难怪TVT的估值迅速上涨。自从ICQ被苏业豪收购，向外界散播已经找到盈利点的消息之后，ICQ的估值也到了四亿五千万美金左右，只不过暂时还没打算接受融资，所以估值仅仅只是一个数字。最近几天，苏业豪被约翰·周带着参加小派对，在当地认识不少新朋友。听别人说起找钱多么多么容易，想拿一千万还不行，投资人非得融资两三千万美金，这倒是给苏业豪提了个醒。。虽然不急着上市，但是尽快将手里的两家公司拉扯起来，可以趁着行情大火，四处吆喝着圈一笔融资款回来。一旦将资金问题解决，接下来几年估计都不用自掏腰包，为公司开销而发愁。借鸡生蛋，岂不是美滋滋？假如脸皮足够厚，等到泡沫破裂后估值下跌，还有机会用低价再把转让出去的股份买回来，当中的差价可能高达数亿美金。想到这些，苏业豪找到新上任的TVT临时首席执行官罗杰·克鲁伊夫，笑眯眯表示会再提供两千万美金给他，无论如何也要想办法，把产品的用户数量砸上去。会员、虚拟商品、广告等等盈利点，也可以开始筹备推出了，争取让营收数据漂亮一点。……阳光，草地，沙滩椅，湛蓝的户外泳池。七月二十二号这天。苏业豪穿着大裤衩，躺在遮阳伞下面，喝着冰沙吃西瓜。农轻影一身长裙，坐在旁边低头看书，她嘴里还说着：“见鬼的恐怕要忙，看你最近多闲，岂不是等于换了个地方养生呢？硅谷真无聊，要不然我们一起回去吧，刚好后天是我妈生日。”“唉。”苏业豪放好杯子，将胳膊枕在脑袋下面，叹完气接着说道：“万万没想到，我看好的生意居然这么不受欢迎，放眼望去除了美国在线，都没人跟我竞争，广告投放效果也很好，总不能每天都去公司坐镇，从上班发呆到下班吧？”“……你的竞争对手，不是被你给收购了么，继续跟美国在线抢市场啊。”“这不是正在抢着呢，况且他们的收费聊天群，注定死路一条，砸钱砸不过他们，我能怎么办。”苏业豪神色懒散，闭着眼睛，舒服到都快睡着了。他所谓的“不受欢迎”，是指往即时聊天领域创业的团队不多，偶尔能见到一些，也都还没发展起来。强的太强，美国在线总市值已经快五百亿美金。弱的又太弱，都是些不知道还有没有明天的小团队。在这种局面下，TVT的日子不要太好过，来了美国一周，在广告和引流的加持下，TVT的日活跃用户增加八万多，增幅还在持续扩大，口口相传，吸引众多新用户。部分用户，还是从ICQ抢来的，等于左手换右手，没流进外人田地。即时聊天市场之所以没被关注，原因无非出在前途黑暗上，就连ICQ这样掌握七百万用户的公司，都没思科、雅虎的市值零头值钱，吸引用户还特别烧钱，迟迟看不见回报。有这个先例明摆着，创业者们哪能看不见，投资机构同样放弃了ICQ，把它当成随时完蛋的小众市场看待。其实美国在线单靠收费群聊，同样值不了那么多钱。这家公司的市值之所以高到惊人，主要是网络社区、网络新闻以及信息服务等业务支撑着，现如今号称拥有两千万用户，跟广告商走得非常近，让人觉得有前景。简而言之，美国在线是家大型集团，苏业豪关注的收费聊天室，仅仅只是它诸多业务中的一小部分，单独拎出来最多值个十五亿美金左右。天花板摆在这，吸引用户的过程中还特别烧钱，也难怪硅谷的创业者们不敢进这行。ICQ之所以凭借特别简单的功能，实现七百万用户的积累，部分原因就在于没人跟它争抢，用户可选择的空间太小，小到之前几乎只有ICQ，最近又多了个TVT。罗杰·克鲁伊夫上任后，调研完只在个人空间里，找到区区数个合适的广告位，再多容易惹人嫌。弊端显而易见，如何变现是个难题。苏业豪近期一直在派人寻找合适的游戏开发团队，同时又关注搜索引擎、浏览器、视频软件、新闻网站之类，为的就是想办法将即时聊天软件积累的客户，通过引流的方式转化成公司收入。一时半会儿还没头绪，苏业豪并不着急，反正投资才是大头，这边可以撑一撑。来到硅谷的第八天。没有想象中的大杀四方，公司也没什么活。听农轻影说想回港城，苏业豪也觉得继续在这养老没意义，索性答应了一起回去……
