凡是跟侵权以及学术不端行为（academic misconduct）相关的“抄袭”在英文中一律用plagiarism表示，其动词形式为plagiarize，如，plagiarize other's work（剽窃、抄袭他人的作品）。个人履历中的“学历造假”则可用fabricate academic credential来表示。说到抄袭，我们自然会想到近几年热议的“山寨”，市场上卖的“山寨名牌”可以用knockoff或者copycat表示，比如，that so-called new product was just a copycat of their rival’s latest product（那个所谓的新产品只不过是山寨了对手的新品而已）。
抄chāo动(誊写) copy; transcribe:照抄原文 make a verbatim transcription of the original把这一页抄到你的笔记本上。 Copy this page in your notebook.请把稿件抄一下。 Please make a fair copy of the manuscript.他把书中的两段抄在笔记本上。 He transcribed two paragraphs from the book into his notebook.（抄袭） plagiarize; lift:这一段是作者从别人的作品中抄来的。 The author lifted the paragraph from someone else's work.（搜查并没收） search and confiscate; make a raid upon（拿取） go (walk) off with:谁把我的字典抄走了? Who's gone off with my dictionary?（走简捷的路） take a shortcut:如果抄近路，我只要步行5分钟就能到学校。 If I take a shortcut, I can walk to school for only five minutes.（两手相互插在袖筒里） fold (one's arms):抄着手站在那里 stand by with folded arms（匆忙地抓取） grab; take up:抄起扫帚就扫地 take up a broom and begin to sweep the floor
