皮蛋的正式英文是preservedegg。皮蛋是鸭蛋经过特殊的材料制作而成的，里面含铅的成分很高。对于洋人来说，皮蛋就像坏掉的鸭蛋一样，味道难闻不说，口感奇怪。再加上洋人喜欢把事情夸大地说，所以称皮蛋为100yearegg。这其实是外国人的一种性格啦，有点幽默的成分。
