General Introduction
I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao
Tong University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance
into your Ph.D. graduate program.
Education background In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program
waived of the admission test.
At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the
department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my
university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excel lent Graduation Thesis.
Research experience and academic activity When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast
and began to narrow down my interest for my future research.
With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I
assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product. In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data
Mining.
1、Good morning/afternoon/evening, my name is . It is really a great honor to have this opportunity/chance to introduce myself. I would like to answer whatever you may raise, and I hope I can make a good performance today.
First of all thank the teacher gave me a story in my own future ideal job.
Everyone has a dream job. My dream is to become a boss, own a company.
In order to achieve my dreams, I need to find a good job, to accumulate some experience and wealth, it is the necessary things
Of course, in the school good achievement and rich knowledge is also very important. Good achievement and rich experience can let me work to make the right choice, have more opportunities and achievements.
At the same time, communication is very important, because it determines whether my company has a good future development. So I need to exercise their communicative ability. I need to use all of the free time to learn all. Because I believe, there is nothing in the world can shake my determination.
You will be successful, as your own efforts. So seize the time, we have no time to waste.
Nothing in the world can change their patience ( confidence ).
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.
olks, it's long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. that's what built the middle class. it's time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.
you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.
that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.
in order to do that, it's time to have a fair tax structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close tax loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.
good morning, everyone!it's a great pleasure to stand here to share my own story with you.
what's the most important event in your life?different people may have different answers.and i have gotten my answer these days----that is coming to wuyi university where my life has great changes,in other words, the university life has brought many "first times" to me----the new experience.
when i was at high school,i was told that the university life was wonderful, full of freedom and chanllenges,so i was really looking forward to my own life in university, dreaming of the beautiful campus, interesting courses and all kinds of activities.
however, when it really came to me,it's a different story at the beginning.i took my first step into the campus with disappointment, beacause the buildings look too old and drad.i still remember the day when daddy drove me here and i was unwiling to get out of the car and say goodbye to him.on the way to jiangmen,i hope if only the car slowed down or the road was longer.
there's no doubt that as a freshman i couldn't adapt myself to the new life here due to the differences between university life and high school life,in particular the one dependent like me.once i was at a boarding school, however, living in the university is not the same as before, you know,it's the first time for me to be so far away from home.i felt homesick and even a little afraid, and i phoned mummy and daddy almost every day.what's more,at home mummy and daddy do everything for me,because i am a child forever in their eyes,so they always protect me from being hurted.but now i have to learn to be independent and do everything by myself.
as time goes by,i have met new friends who make me feel at ease on campus.gradually,i have managed to adjust myself to the life here, furthermore,i've learnt a lot from university life.being far away from home,i get to realize how deeply i love my family and how deeply they love me.even though they're not around me here in jiangmen,i was able to take good care of myself;i can wash my clothes by my own hands;i can put away my things by myself;i can go shopping with my roommates.
now i am a member of the environmental protection association of wuyi university, where i've gotten a lot of opportunities to train myself and broaden my mind, such as working out the function plan and giving others a lesson on environnmental protection, and all of these are meaningful.when i make every effort to work on one thing, finally i make it,and the feeling is really good.i got my first part-time job last sunday.you can imagine how exciting i was when i got my paid after hours' work.now i understand the old saying''no pain,no gain.""if you think you can,you can!"
in conclusion, coming to wuyi university let me know who i am and how to really grow up and be independent.everyone can do the best!so my dear friends, let's cherish our opportunities to study here and enjoy our school life.thank you!

What is the biggest effect of the internet.
No invention has received more praise and abuse than internet .
Thereis no doubt that we can do the things that for us may be difficult or even impossible in the past with the help of internet . we can communicate with the friends we have lost touch with for many years by the internet
I enjoy go on line ,for i can do whatever i like ,such as talking with my friends, chatting with my teacher and also listenning some ver, what i like most is to read electrical magzine or watch some english films.i can also know the lastest news about the world instently. as i am a student ,i do not have much time surffing the internet..
But i will go on line in the weekend if i have finished my homework parents agree with fact they always support me on everything i like i believe that people equate succein life with the ability of operating is generally accepted that no college or university can educate its students by the time they graduate,so may be computer skills will enchance our job opportunities or promotion..
However, some believe that it is a terrible invention, because their kids are clinging to the net games and even crime as a result of the bad effect. what is more, some girls are cheated by people through internet.
Good afternoon, everyone! It is my great honor to stand here to give you this presentation. First let me introduce myself briefly, my name is Peng Hui, I am currently a junior student come from the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering. My major is port channel and coastal engineering. My hometown is Yi Yang in Hu Nan province. In my spare time, I like playing table tennis and badminton, I think exercise is also an investment. Also I like listening music and traveling, they are good ways to relax myself. Now let’s begin my presentation. In the following few minutes, I hope all of you can enjoy my speech.
My topic is “Is It Necessary to Buy a House before Getting Married”.
When we are preparing to get wed, one thing we should decide is where we will live after the wedding. Ideally, this should be taken care of before we get married so that we can settle down and start our married life more smoothly.
Should we rent a house with our companion or buy a new one? There’s really no right answer. There are no clear cut formulas to establish whether it is better to own a house during our marriage life. A lot of it depends on finance preparedness, the quality of our relationship with each other, and other things.
Today, getting married in China is not an easy thing. “No house, no marriage” has been very popular in the society.
According to the "Survey Report Chinese Marriage Status of 2010" released on Dec 15, 2010, about 70 percent of women said that housing, stable income and some savings were the main requirements for marriage. From the report, we can see that housing is on the top among the factors.
Personality and morals lay beyond the top three requirements. However “No house, no marriage” has been a phenomenon different from other countries.
Next, let’s take a look at the situation overseas.
In Japan, renting has been a custom for newly married young couples. Few can afford to purchase property. Up to 67.1 percent of young couples choose to rent, and merely 14.3 percent of the group buy a house for marriages. Generally speaking, most buyers are older than 40 in Japan.
In Europe, it is reported that there are many people who live in rented houses all their lives and they don’t feel it is a bad thing. In Berlin, 70 percent people choose to rent, only 30 percent adults choose to buy a house. Journalists have surveyed that the average age of Europeans to
buy their first house in Belgium is 41-year-old, in France 38 years old, in Germany 40 years old. Finally, they concluded that the average age is 40 years old.
For many Americans, housing troubles don't pose any obstacle to marriage. They often buy a house after the wedding, because more and more people are reconsidering their real estate problem, and going back to a more rational mode of consumption.
In my opinion,it is not necessary to buy a house before we get married. First, if we choose to buy a house, it will increase our economic burden, leading the constraint of our marriage life. Second, it will impose restrictions to the development of our career if we spend most of our salaries on mortgaging a house. Last but not least, we will feel guilt if our parent can’t enjoy a happy life in their later years because their saving were spent on buying a flat for us. Above all, young people should be free to enjoy being young, without the huge pressure of trying to buy houses.
That’s all! Thank you for your attention!
