这个是on 和in 的用法问题。翻译起来都是在雪地上，但是在英文中有个细微的差别，on一般是在表面之上的，接触了表面，但是没有深入里面。比如说the book is on the table。由于这里是泛指所有的雪地，所以用on snow；而in 一般是在……之上但是有所深入了，甚至还有在……里的意思。很明显，这里的SOS肯定已经踩入到雪里才能留下痕迹。而且是特指她所在的这片雪地，用in the snow.
在雪地上是on the snow.不过她把“SOS”的字母写“进”了雪里面,写“进去了”.所以是in the snow.就如The pen is on the book.（在书上）；和I write in the book.(我在书里写).一样的道理.
