As college English education is greatly emphasized with the rapid development of global communication, tbe defects that exist in the current educational system are open to more criticism- It is widely acknowledged that a thorough reform of college English education should be under way.
People ask for English education reform mainly because of the Inadequacy of college English education under the current system. On the one hand, many coilege English teachers underestimate the role interest plays in English learning and keep preaching in class. On the other hand, under the current system, most Chinese students tend to separate vocabulary memorizing, grammar, Listening, speaking, reading, and writing ftom each other and therefore their English is also “broken” in this way. This has also greatly contributed to the “dumb English” of many Chinese students.
In my view, to reform English education, colleges and universities should encourage students to speak English in class and hold more activities to promote students' oral English. Teachers should focus on attracting students with vivid teaching and arouse students* enthusiasm in learning English. With the collaboration, the reform of college BngHsh education will surely yield pleatiful fitiits.
My plan to solve the air pollution
The air pollution has become a serious problem in recent years. If not solved, it will cause many health problems to our citizens. As the environment minister, I do feel obliged to take some measures to tackle this problem. Here’s my plan.
In the first place, I urge that cars be restricted based on the odd and even number rule. It can be seen that the air condition at weekends is much better than that on weekdays, one of the reasons for which is the decreasing number of cars on the road. Therefore, to limit the cars during the weekdays is a good solution.
Second, I would like to abandon the barbecue stalls. Actually, it’s not healthy. Besides, the barbecue smoke also pollutes the air, so it’s better to abandon the barbecue stalls.
Last but not least, I strongly recommend that relative laws be made to inspect those factories which produce excessive smoke, especially those steel plants, organic chemical plants, and coking plants.
A Petition Letter
July 7, 2010
Dear Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I wish to move into a new room next semester. I would prefer a single room、as I find the present arrangement inconvenient.
I must explain the reasons for my dissatisfaction is my roommates’ inconsiderate behavior. For one thing, their friends are constantly visiting them and they regularly hold noisy parties. For another, they sometimes use my things without asking permission. Under these circumstances』I find it difficult to concentrate on my studies.
I am sure you will agree that the only solution for me is to move into a room of my own, where I will be free from such distractions. Therefore, I would begrate if you could findasingleroomjorme,_preferablynotinjthe same.bui^ling.but.stilloncamfius.
There is no exaggeration in saying that when it comes to the choice after graduating from university, people who are standing at the crossroads may have different ideas. Some people may choose to further their study, while others may want to go abroad. Facing the choices of working in a state-owned business and a joint venture, I would like to choose the former one.
The reasons are listed as following. At the top of the list, it is an undeniable factthe state-owned business can provide a stable life for me , so I can spend more time with my parents without worrying about other things. Additionally, we must admit that if I work in a state-owned business, I will work re-laxly and without much pressure. That is what I want. In line with a survey conducted by authorities concerned on the web, nearly two thirds of people interviewed like to make the same choice as me.
In a word, if I can work in a state-owned business, I think, I will have a happy life.
For undergraduates college students, deciding what to do upon graduation can be a tough decision to say the least. From my point of view, I prefer to launch a business. My choice can be attributed to the following two driving forces.
For one thing, I want to start my own business because I love do what I love. In my own business, I will be more than passionate to plan, organize and execute my favorite project. For another thing, running my own business, I can accumulate rich experience, which is not only valuable to problem-solving but also critical to career development. While the risk of failing is real, what is important part is the lesson learned.
Actually, when in comes time for university graduates to decide their next step in life, there is no on right or wrong choice for everyone. Rather, each students must reach his or her own conclusion.
