笔译的话有翻译理论、中到英笔译、英到中笔译。还会学一些语言学的基础知识。如果是口专业的话就会有英到中、中到英的交传和同传。现在一般的笔译专业也会适当上点口译课。笔译专业偏重于文学性的翻译和翻译理论。基本上出来以后就搞文学翻译或者翻译理论研究了。现在国家也出了MTI,Master of Translation and Interpretation。给与的是翻译学硕士。这个专业比较偏重实践，非文学性翻译。出来以后就是干活的，翻译材料、口译都能上手。就业出路比较好，不过对于想搞研究和文学翻译的人不合适。
