20160614世界经典文学名著《动物庄园》全英文版 《ANIMAL FARM  》George Orwell Chapter Three&Chapter Four P24-39（因为全英版本，加上自己翻译，所以看得慢。） 主要内容： 第三章主要讲述动物们收割牧草，集体劳动;成立读书班，普及教育;建立国防，预备其他庄园的进攻;建造风车，改善民生。这一系列的经济、教育、军事举动，促进了庄园的繁荣和发展。动物庄园在庄园界的地位逐渐上升，并被认可，乃至人们习惯称之为动物庄园。 第四章主要讲述动物庄园所发生的事在全国迅速传播开来。曼纳庄园（也就是现在的动物庄园）前主人Mr. John带一批人回来抢夺庄园，因为动物们已经做好准备，所以把Mr.John打得落花流水，狼狈逃跑。这次战争动物们命名为“牛棚战役”（The Battle of Cowshed）在这次战役中一头羊牺牲了，并被动物们称为“英雄”，动物们还给它厚葬。 信笺： 1.这个社会上有两种人，一种是勤奋的人，另外一种是懒惰的人。 《Animal Farm》ChapterThree里面提到的一匹拉货车的马Boxer就是勤奋的。他比任何动物都要勤奋工作，每天晚上农场里剩下的工作都落在他的肩上，他都任劳任怨。而且，为了多干活，他还吩咐小公鸡早上要比别人提前半个小时叫醒他。他把“我会更加努力工作的！”作为自己的座右铭。我想到了一句话：最可怕的不是很多人比你牛，而是比你牛的人比你还努力！ 书签：His answer to every problem, every setback, was “ I  will work harder！  ” ——Which he had adopted as his personal motto. 同样是《Animal Farm  》ChapterThree里面还提到一只猫，每次需要干活时候她总会不见了；每次吃饭时候，就会踩点出现。每次都会一大堆借口。 总结：不为失败找理由，只为成功找方法。 2.当一个人的权利欲望不断膨胀时候，就会以权谋私，满嘴谎言。比ChapterThree里面提到大家辛苦工作，而猪作为监督者管理者自己却偷偷吃了牛奶和其他果实。当被别人揭穿时候，他光冕堂皇解释道：“牛奶和果实对大脑很好。整个农场的管理组织都要靠我们，我们日日夜夜守护你们的福利。为了你们着想，我才吃那些东西的！难道你们想Mr.John回来吗？！” 3.牛棚战役中动物们那一战打得太漂亮了，各自使出各自的看家本领。Mr.John回去抢夺回来有点类似古代的“反清复明”，一个暴君被推翻了，不能顺应民心，再次想要卷土重来，那是不可能的。长江后浪推前浪，只能一步步往前走。 书签： War is war. Fueled by Orwell's intense disillusionment with Soviet Communism, Animal Farm is a nearly perfect piece of writing, both an engaging story and an allegory that actually works. When the downtrodden beasts of Manor Farm oust their drunken human master and take over management of the land, all are awash in collectivist zeal. Everyone willingly works overtime, productivity soars, and for one brief, glorious season, every belly is full. The animals' Seven Commandment credo is painted in big white letters on the barn. All animals are equal. No animal shall drink alcohol, wear clothes, sleep in a bed, or kill a fellow four-footed creature. Those that go upon four legs or wings are friends and the two-legged are, by definition, the enemy. Too soon, however, the pigs, who have styled themselves leaders by virtue of their intelligence, succumb to the temptations of privilege and power. "We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of the farm depend on us. Day and night, we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples." While this swinish brotherhood sells out the revolution, cynically editing the Seven Commandments to excuse their violence and greed, the common animals are once again left hungry and exhausted, no better off than in the days when humans ran the farm. Satire Animal Farm may be, but it's a stony reader who remains unmoved when the stalwart workhorse, Boxer, having given his all to his comrades, is sold to the glue factory to buy booze for the pigs.
