My favourite season is spring.Spring is a lovely season,I think.There is a garden behind my house.In spring,the trees become green and the flowers give off fragrance.There are many butterflies and bees over the flowers.The butterflies are dancing and the bees are singing.Sometimes it rains.It usually rains quietly.The rain moistens the trees and the flowers.I think they may say,“We’re very thirsty.The rain is very good.It can help us.” What a beautiful scene!

How to Read

My Home Town

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

The star in the sky were twinkling.Some were crowded,and others were separate.Then I found the stars were not the same color.There were many colors,white,gray,light blue,orange,and so on.It was really beautiful.At that time,the sky was like blue damask decorated by millions of bright diamonds.

Looking up the sky,I saw the moon.It was like a naughty child.Sometimes it hid in the clouds and sometimes it got out of the clouds, it seemsed to play"hide and seek"with me.The stars around the moon,however,were as girls,hiding themselves in the clouds.

When I was very small, I like to read the books with pictures, because I did not know the words. Today, I had a rich and meaningful day. Mymother opened a bakery. She was very kind-hearted. She promised the children inthe orphanage to bake for them today. My mother asked me to help. When we bakedall the bread, we brought all of them to the orphanage. This was the first timeI went to orphanage. I thought I couldn’t forget the smile on the children’sface when they saw us. They were as happy as birds. They accepted the breadjust as a gift from the heaven. Compared with them, I felt that I was so happy.Thanks to my parents that I can have such happy life. I loved them. I willtreasure more my life in the future.

Oneway to get around in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai is to take a taxi,but it’s too expensive. Many people like to go out by subway or light rail.They are very fast and convenient. Now they are becoming more and more popular.Buses are cheap, but they are very slow in rush hours.
