clothes叫做集合名词，已经是复数含义了，类似于people。
你是说英语吧，衣服可以数，但是作为布...就不可以了！
在英语中是可数的,写是clothes
dress作名词讲的时候有两个意思：1. 女装;连衣裙[C]All the pretty women wore their smartest dresses.所有漂亮的女士都穿着最漂亮的连衫裙。2. 衣服;(特定的)服装(如民族服装,礼服等)[U]Few people wore evening dress.几乎没有人穿晚礼服。显然1是可数，2是不可数。具体问题具体分析！

单就衣服来说，是可数的如：i have a lot of nice clothes但是，作为“布”不可数了，例如：all kinds of clothe here are beautiful!!这里cloth 用的单数形式
