Fred was going to school. When he passed a park, he saw a man sawing a big branch from a tree.

“Hi, it is dangerous.” Fred shouted. “After you cut off the branch, you will fall, too.” But the man didn’t believe him, and said angrily, “Go away, you little thing. It’s none of your business.”
Fred could do nothing, so he left. He didn’t go far before he heard something crashed. He rushed back and found the man lying on the ground.

The Old Man and the Old Cat
An old man has a cat. The cat is very old, too. He runs very quickly. And his teeth are bad. One evening, the old cat sees a little mouse. He catches it, but he can’t eat it because his teeth are not strong enough. The mouse runs away.
The old man is very angry. He beats his cat. He says: “You are a fool cat. I will punish you!” the cat is very sad. He thinks:“When I was young, I worked hard for you. Now you don’t like me because I’m too old to work. You should know you are old, too.”
Some of us always spend Sundays aimlessly. We can seldom derive profits from the valuable hours of Sundays. This is indeed a great pity. Though Sundays are set aside as a day for rest, we must make good use of them.
We know that our school lessons are usually not sufficient. We should often utilize Sundays to read reference books. In this way we will increase our knowledge. Besides, we must be engaged in sports or outing so as to strengthen our bodies.
Teachers’ Day comes on September 10th every year. On the day we usually give our teachers cards to show our thanks. I thank them for helping me when I am in trouble, and I thank them for teaching me how to be a real man.
Of course they are very friendly to everyone. They always get on very well with their students. They are not only our teachers but also our friends. They love us very much and we love them,too.
Today, i went to my old house. i lived in it two years ago. when i am at school, i often think of my old house because it made me happy in the past. my old house is very tidy but old. it has only one level and there are just two rooms in it. i slept with my mother and my father ever evening.
my old house is between two high houses, so it looks very small but lovely. when i lived in my old house, i often played with my sister at the weekends. but now i can’t, so i feel a little sad. two years ago, i could share my feelings with my parents too, but they were separate at last.
so my old house is my favourite place. if i have some trouble, i think of it and my parents, i’ll always get lots of energy. i will then forget the trouble soon. do you think my old house is a wonderful place? yes, it’s my great “palace.”
