研究员和教授平级，都是高级职称。区别在于，一般大学中的研究所或者科研院所中的研究员只是单纯搞研究，没有给学生授课的任务，而教授则不同，既要搞研究也要给学生上课。教授可以兼做研究员，但研究员不一定能当教授。
