London bridge is falling down在世界各地都有着不同的版本。在傲慢民歌指数它的编号是第502首。这是英国民间的童谣集鹅妈妈童谣【Mother Goose】中的一首，创作方法是其他国家传到英国的。当中包含的民间故事在1697年被叫做“母亲鹅的故事”，且出现在短的吹牛大话或故事中。这些故事在1729年被转变为英国语。
