和平的生活 Peaceful Life

When I was very small, my grandpa liked to tell me his tough year and I liked to listen to him. At that time, wars were everywhere, people ran away for keeping alive. My grandpa was so hungry all the time because he had no food to eat. People had the very hard life before the found of new China. Today, Chinese economy develops so fast, we live the good life, we are no longer struggle for the hunger. Thanks to our great predecessors, they build the road for us. We enjoy the peaceful life and I know it is not easy to achieve. My grandpa educates me not to waste the food and I keep his words in my mind. Peace is the main theme of today’s world, we can chase our dreams and enjoy our life, but we must remember the contribution which is from our predecessors.

在我很小的时候，爷爷很喜欢给我讲他的艰难岁月，我也喜欢听他讲。那个时候，战争无处不在，人们为了活命而逃亡。爷爷总是很饿，因为他没有东西吃。人们在新中国成立前过着艰难的生活。今天，中国的经济发展快速，我们过上了好生活，不再为饥饿挣扎。多亏了我们伟大的先辈们，他们为了开拓了道路。我们享受这和平的生活，我知道这来之不易。爷爷教育我不要浪费食物，我一直记着他的话。和平是世界现在的主题，我们可以追求梦想，快乐生活，但是我们必须记得先辈们的贡献。

新的突破 The New Break Through

It is known to all that track and field is dominated by black men, they run so fast and win many championships. Asian people can’t compete with them. Many years ago, Chinese athlete Liu Xiang had broken the rule, he occupied an important place in track and field. Since he retires, no one can fill the blank space. But recently, we see the hope, some new Chinese athletes made the record. The four guys won the relay race, they got the second prize, which recreated the history. When people saw them competed with the white men and black men, no one thought that they could win the prize. We are so proud of Chinese athletes, they show to the world that yellow men can compete with the world. We are looking forward to seeing more new break through.

众所周知，田径由黑种人统治着，他们跑得很快，赢得了很多冠军。亚洲人无法和他们竞争。很多年以前，中国的运动员刘翔打破了这个规律，他在田径项目上占据了很重要的位置。自从他退役后，没有人能够填补上这个空缺。但是最近，我们看到了希望，一些中国新的运动员创造了记录。四个男孩子赢得了接力比赛，他们赢得了第二名，创造了历史。当人们看到他们与白种人和黑种人竞争的时候，没有人能够想到他们能够赢得奖牌。我们为中国的运动员感到骄傲，他们向世界展示了黄种人也能和世界竞争。我们期待看到更多的新突破。

审美标准 The Standard of Beauty

It has been admitted that beautiful outlook can bring people a lot of attention, the beautiful person always win the chances to be successful. But what is the standard of a beauty, different times have different standard. In our parents’ generation, it was believed that a girl should be a little fatter, because it meant that she lived the better life, while the thin girl would be thought to be lacking of happiness. In today, the standard of beauty has changed, the most important standard of a beauty is to be thin, the thinner, the better. When we look at the commercial ads, all of the models are skinny, with the beautiful dress, they look so gorgeous. When I see my friends work so hard to lose weight, I feel worried about them. They don’t have to do it, the beauty’s standard will change any time. We should stay the way we are.

人们承认美丽的外表能给人们带来很多的吸引力，长得好看的人总是能赢得成功的机会。但是美丽的标准是什么呢，不同的时间有不同的标准。在我们父母那一代，人们认为女孩子应该胖点，因为那意味着她过得好，然而瘦的女孩就会被认为缺少幸福。在今天，美丽的标准已经改变了，美丽的最重要标准就是瘦，越瘦越好。当我们看商业广告的时候，所有的模特都是很瘦的，加上华丽的服饰，他们看起来真美。看到我的朋友们那么努力的去减肥，我为他们担忧。他们可以不用减，美丽的标准会随时变。我们应该做自己。
