签合同英文是Sign the contract。

签合同前要先看清条款，问清楚再下笔。还应注意：合同正式签订后，合同双方当事人协商一致口头更改合同，可以变更合同。如单方对合同进行涂改，以改变了原有合同约定的，则改变的部分无效，维持原合同约定内容。合同当事人在合同上签字或者盖章均是有效的等。

另外，需要注意的是法律、行政法规规定采用书面形式的，应当采用书面形式，如房地产转让合同、长期的租赁合同、建筑工程合同等。当事人约定采用书面形式的，应当采用书面形式。

如单方对合同进行涂改，以改变了原有合同约定的，则改变的部分无效，维持原合同约定内容。合同签订之后，任何一方想进行合同修改的，必须告知对方，经双方协商一致同意后，重新签订合同或在原合同相应条款作修改或补充，并在修改地方加盖双方公章（个人手印）。

若只有口头答应但没有对合同做修改或者没有在任何一处有修改变动的地方盖章（手印），视为无效，合同维持原有内容继续生效。
