In ancient times, every Lantern Festival, people have to divide Caoshefu, cited as laughter. The riddles were first developed from riddles and originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It is a kind of literary game that is full of ridicule, discipline, humor, and laughter.
Riddles hang in the light for people to guess and start in the Southern Song Dynasty. "Wulin Old Things and Lighting Products" records: "Cut poems with lanterns, laugh at them, and draw characters, hidden words, and old Beijing Proverbs, teasing pedestrians. "
"The Lantern Festival, the imperial city is not night, the spring festival is not night, the people are mixed, the poetry mystery book is reflected in the lamp, reflected in the candle, listed in the Tongyu, let people guess", so it is called "lantern mystery." Riddles turn into riddles, and there's an interesting story.
According to legend, a long time ago, there was a rich man, known as the smiling Tiger. When he saw a man in decent clothes, he went to great lengths to flatter him; Seeing the poor man in rough clothes, he blew his beard and stared.
A young man named Wangshao was driven out of the gate once when he went to borrow food because of his rags. The more Wangshao went back, the more he wanted to get angry. On the night of Yuanxiao, he put on a large lantern and came to the smiling Tiger house. There is a poem inscribed on the lantern. Smiling Tiger came forward to look, and saw that it read:
The tip of the head is as white as silver. It is said that there is no half a millimeter;Eyes on the ass,He who knows only his clothes does not recognize others.
Smiling Tiger looked away, angry and red, furious, shouted: "Good boy, dare to curse the master. "The family ordered Ding to grab the lantern. Wangshao was busy picking up the lantern and smiled and said:" Hey, the old man is not guilty of suspicion. My four poems are a mystery. The answer is "needle".
Think about it. How can this needle be for you? How else would you know it was you? "A smiling Tiger thought, but it was not, but he was so angry that he stared and the ash slipped away. The people around him were laughing with joy.
After the news spread, it spread farther and farther. In the second year of Lantern Festival, people followed suit and wrote riddles on lanterns for people to guess and shoot for fun. So it's called a lantern puzzle.
