古诗词《鹊桥仙》英译赏析

《鹊桥仙·纤云弄巧》是宋代词人秦观的作品。这是一曲纯情的爱情颂歌，上片写牛郎织女聚会，下片写他们的离别。全词哀乐交织，熔抒情与议论于一炉，融天上人间为一体，优美的形象与深沉的感情结合起来，起伏跌宕地讴歌了美好的爱情。此词议论自由流畅，通俗易懂，却又显得婉约蕴藉，余味无穷，尤其是末二句，使词的思想境界升华到一个崭新的高度，成为词中警句。

All the love scenes on earth, however many, fade.

Their tender love flows like a stream;

How can they bear a separate homeward way?

金风玉露一相逢，便胜却人间无数。

柔情似水，佳期如梦，忍顾鹊桥归路?

两情若是久长时，又岂在朝朝暮暮?

人人皆知的牛郎织女在众多诗词人笔下，大多凄苦，哀婉，独独秦观立意新颖、独树一帜，本诗开头营造凄美的氛围，结尾高度凝练，告诉我们情感不拘泥于分别时日之苦，而在于脉脉情谊之深，极富创新精神。

要将如此情景交融，委婉含蓄的古诗翻译成英文实非易事，许渊冲先生的`英译本(以下称许译本)在一定程度上给我们提供了学习的范本。在许渊冲先生看来，翻译诗歌，除了传达诗词本身的内涵意义，还要时刻铭记翻译的是“诗”这一类文体，因此，译本同样需要有格律韵调。从结构上来说，许译本两短三长，对应了原作的句式，整齐亦有层次感。原作三五句押韵，许译本押韵格式为aabbbccddd，读起来节奏感强，达到了“形美”和“音美”的标准。最后两句点睛之笔，原作中就不难理解，许译本翻译地也很简单，其中aye为古英语，表永远，既押韵又典雅。原作中天地交融，情中有景，景中有情，译文的意境传达可谓是恰当合时，又不失“美”的标准。
