一、词性不同：
mankind，只作名词用，指人类。 human 作名词时指：人，全人类，形容词时指：人类的，人性的。例如：Stress, both human and mechanical, may also be a contributing factor. 来自人的和机械方面的压力可能也是一个因素。
二、适用范围不同：
human 作名词时指：人，全人类，这是相对于机器，动物来表达时用的词。例如：here's no snake known that will habitually attack human beings unless threatened with its life. 除非自己的生命受到了威胁，已知的蛇中还没有习惯性地攻击人类的。
三、单复数不同：
当mankind作主语时，其谓语动词也是要用单数形式的。
如：Human beings have always dreamt of happiness and of a perfect world. 人类总是向往幸福。Humankindhas always dreamt of happiness. 人类总是向往幸福。表达相同的意思，但是谓语动词mankind要用单数形式，而Human beings使用的是复数形式。
